Q. What is the difference between SkyMed and Global Emergency Travel Services (Global ETS)?
A. SkyMed transports you to your home medical facility of your choice when you are traveling anywhere in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Bahamas and Caribbean. When you are vacationing outside of the SkyMed service area, the Global Emergency Travel Services (Global ETS) will take over. It will transport you to your home medical facility only when it is medically necessary to do so.
Q. How will I receive my membership information once I enroll?
A. SkyMed Short Term and Ultimate Short Term plans: Within 48 hours of enrollment, SkyMed will send a confirmation e-mail with all details of your membership and the Member Service Agreement.
SkyMed Ultimate Annual plan: Upon enrollment, SkyMed will send a confirmation e-mail with all details of your membership and the Member Service Agreement. Allow 10 business days for the delivery of the hard membership card and member services packet via mail. Q. Will the membership provide coverage for my family?
A. For your convenience, SkyMed offers individual and family memberships so that you and your entire traveling party can be covered.
Q. What constitutes a family membership?
A. Cohabiting couple, or single parent with dependents under the age of 18, or under the age of 24 if full-time college students, constitutes a family membership.
Q. Can the member have another traveling companion other than their spouse for the family membership?
A. Yes, a member can list a traveling companion, as long as they are living at together at the same address and both have the same medical transport preference.
